What is an ECU file service?

An ECU file service supplies workshops with modified engine and gearbox calibration files: you read the vehicle's engine control unit or TCU with your own tool, upload the original file, and download a version adjusted to the services you ordered. Your workshop does the physical work — reading and flashing. We do the calibration work: fuel and boost maps, torque structure, limiters, gearbox parameters.

The service is built for professionals. Independent workshops, chiptuning centers and mobile tuners who own a master tool use it as the calibration department behind their business. It covers our full range of tuning services — Stage 1 and Stage 2 remaps, hardware-supported Stage 3, TCU/DSG gearbox tuning and options such as launch control, hardcut limiter, pop & bang or Vmax off — across all the brands we support, from Volkswagen Group and BMW to trucks.

Off-road use only: emissions-related deletions (EGR, DPF/FAP, AdBlue/SCR and similar) are intended exclusively for off-road, motorsport or export use. Removing emissions systems on vehicles used on public roads is illegal in the EU and most jurisdictions. The workshop and the vehicle owner are responsible for compliance. Read the full policy on our off-road deletions page.

How does ordering through the panel work?

You register your workshop at app.repromatronic.es, upload the original read with the vehicle data, and download the modified file from the same order once our engineer has finished and verified it. The whole cycle runs online, in English, from any browser.

Register your workshop

Create your account at app.repromatronic.es. The panel keeps your full order history and every original and modified file in one place.

Upload the original read

Open a new order, attach the complete original file and enter the vehicle data, the tool you used and the services you want.

Engineer modifies & verifies

A human engineer writes your calibration and reviews it before delivery. Questions about hardware or expectations get answered before work starts, not after.

Download and flash

The modified file lands back in the same order, typically the same day during support hours. Flash it with your master tool and road-test.

Which master tools does the file service support?

We work with reads from Alientech KESS3, Magic Motorsport Flex, Autotuner, bFlash, Dimsport New Genius and Trasdata, Hexprog, Autovei Truck Explorer and other master tools. State the tool with every order — read formats differ, and the modified file has to go back in the format your tool expects.

Still choosing hardware? We are official distributors of the major tool brands. Compare master tools, protocols and accessories in our equipment catalog, or ask an engineer which tool fits the vehicles your workshop actually sees.

What do we need from your read?

Four things: the tool you used, a complete original read, the vehicle data, and an honest description of the hardware state. Good input is most of a good file — here is what each one means in practice.

Tool and read method

Which master tool and which method: OBD, bench or boot. It decides the file format we return and what can safely be changed.

Complete original read

The full, unmodified original file. If the ECU already carries another tuner's file, tell us — we would rather work from stock than stack changes on an unknown calibration.

Vehicle data

Make, model, engine, year, VIN and the ECU or TCU reference. It is how the engineer confirms the read matches the vehicle before touching a map.

Hardware state

Stock or modified — intercooler, turbo, exhaust, clutch — plus any stored fault codes. If the hardware will not support what you asked for, the engineer says so before modifying anything.

How fast will I get the modified file?

Typically the same day: files are processed during our online support hours, every day from 8:00 to 22:00 CET. The office in Zaragoza is open Monday to Friday 8:00–14:00 CET, but file work does not stop at the office door — engineers are online daily, weekends included.

Complex ECUs, protected units or unusual service combinations can take longer. When that happens we say so at order confirmation, not after you have booked the car in. Delivery is online, so it works the same wherever your workshop is: vehicles are global — so are our files.

How does pricing work?

File pricing is quote-based: the panel shows the price for your specific vehicle and the services you select before you confirm the order. There is no flat public price list because the cost depends on the ECU or TCU, the services combined in one file, and the vehicle type — a truck calibration is not priced like a Stage 1 hatchback.

Volume discounts available: workshops that send files regularly get volume terms — ask an engineer, or look at the dealer program if you want a closer commercial relationship. Payment instructions are sent with each order confirmation and cover bank transfer, card or PayPal.

Ordering hardware alongside your files? Quotes from the equipment catalog follow the same rule: shipping quoted separately · volume discounts available.

Slave tool vs. master tool: what changes when you order files?

A master tool produces open reads you can send to any file supplier; a slave tool produces encrypted reads that only the master provider it is locked to can decode. That single difference drives cost, flexibility and who each setup suits.

AspectSlave toolMaster tool
File encryption Reads are encrypted. Only the master provider the tool is tied to can open and modify them. Reads are open. Any file service that supports your tool — including ours — can work with them.
Tool cost Lower purchase price for the hardware. Higher upfront investment, and for some brands a subscription on top.
Flexibility One supplier for every file. Changing supplier usually means changing hardware. Choose your file supplier job by job, get second opinions, and keep your reads if you ever switch.
Who it suits A workshop starting out under a single trusted master provider. Established workshops and chiptuning centers that want control over quality, delivery and margin.

Our file service works with master reads — a slave read locked to another provider cannot be decoded by us, which is exactly what its encryption is for. If you are weighing the jump to master hardware, that is a conversation we have with workshops every week.

What support do you get with every file?

Direct access to an engineer — on WhatsApp and inside the panel — plus revisions if the vehicle needs adjustment after flashing. If the car idles rough, throws a code or does not pull the way the datalog says it should, you talk to the person who wrote the calibration, send the symptoms or logs, and get an adjusted file through the same order.

Keep the original read stored in the panel and the ECU can always be returned to stock. And if you want to build calibration skills in-house instead of only buying files, our chiptuning courses cover exactly that — from first remap to WinOLS.

File service FAQ

How long does a tuning file take?

Most files are delivered the same day. Orders are processed during our online support hours, every day from 8:00 to 22:00 CET. Complex ECUs or unusual requests can take longer — if that is the case, we tell you when we confirm the order.

Which master tools do you support?

We accept reads from Alientech KESS3, Magic Motorsport Flex, Autotuner, bFlash, Dimsport New Genius and Trasdata, Hexprog, Autovei Truck Explorer and other master tools. State the tool used with every order so the file is returned in the right format.

How do I order my first file?

Register your workshop at app.repromatronic.es, open a new order, upload the complete original read and enter the vehicle data and the services you need. An engineer modifies and verifies the file and you download it from the same order.

How do I pay for files?

Pricing is quote-based and shown per order in the panel. Payment instructions are sent with the order confirmation and cover bank transfer, card or PayPal. Regular workshops can ask about volume terms.

Do you tune trucks and agricultural vehicles?

Yes. We work with tuning files for cars, vans and trucks, including truck reads taken with Autovei Truck Explorer and other master tools. For agricultural and other special vehicles, send us the ECU reference and vehicle data first and an engineer will confirm coverage before you commit to anything.

What if the car doesn't run right after flashing?

Contact us through the panel or on WhatsApp. Revisions are part of the service: the engineer who wrote your file reviews the symptoms, fault codes or logs and adjusts the calibration if the vehicle needs it. Always keep the original read so the ECU can be restored to stock at any time.

What are your opening hours?

Online engineer support runs every day from 8:00 to 22:00 CET, which is when files are processed and delivered. The Zaragoza office is open Monday to Friday from 8:00 to 14:00 CET.

Do files work worldwide?

Yes. Vehicles are global — so are our files. We modify calibrations for cars, vans and trucks sold in every market and deliver them online through the workshop panel, with engineer support from our technical team in Spain during CET business hours.
